Valentine's Day linzer with Honey 


Ingredients:

  • 30 dkg flour
  • 15 dkg butter or margarine
  • 10 dkg icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 5 g soda bicarbonate
  • 1 tablespoon @rawartisanhoney Sunflower Honey
  • a pinch of salt
  • strawberry jam

Preparation:

Mix the ingredients, minus the strawberry jam, and knead a soft dough. Roll it into to 2-3 mm thick sheet on a floured work surface.


Using a larger heart-shaped cookie cutter cut the cookies to shape. Divide them equally then cut out a smaller shape from one batch. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.


Place them in a pre-heated, 200 °C oven for 8-10 minutes. Check through the oven door during baking as they can turn brown fast because of the honey!


Once cooled, stick them together with the jam. Sift some extra icing sugar on top.
